If you are not coming to study in New Zealand, you can apply for a cancellation and refund of your policy. If your visa has been refused, you will receive a full refund minus a processing or administration fee that varies depending on the insurer and when the cancellation request is sent.
You can either send us a copy of your documents to support the cancellation, and we will contact the insurer on your behalf; or you may contact the insurer directly.

You can cancel this policy at any time by giving us written notice. If you cancel this policy within 7 calendar days of the date the policy was issued to you, you will be given a full refund provided you have not received a claim payment from us. If you cancel this policy after 7 calendar days of the date the policy was issued to you and you have not received a claim payment from us, we will retain the proportion of the premium for the period the policy was in force and refund any unused premium, less an administration and documentation fee of 20% of the original table premium.

If cancellation takes place within 14 days of the Date Issued and You have not claimed or commenced travel, We will retain 30% of the premium for administration purposes and for the period during which Loss of Deposits and Cancellation cover was in force.
If cancellation takes place within 14 days of the Policy Start Date, Your Policy is for a period of 90 days or longer and You have not claimed, We will refund the unused premium to You on a pro-rata basis less 30% for administration purposes and the period during which Loss of Deposits and Cancellation cover was in force.
